Minecrafter 1.0.0 Released

Minecrafter has been released. Currently Minecrafter only runs on Windows XP and higher, but with community interest, a port to Mac OS X or Linux is a definite possibility.

Please check out the Minecrafter tutorial for how to use Minecrafter.

If you are having problems launching in Windows Vista / 7, try out this version (which defaults to XP mode):

I can’t get this to work on Windows 7 x64. Everything works fine up until the point where I launch Minecraft. It builds the mod like it is supposed to (I think), then get the “Waiting for you to finish playing Minecraft” windows for 2 seconds, then that closes. I get a quick glimpse of it saying something like “Restoring original jar”, shortly after which, minecraft launches.

hmm, it seems that different java runtimes have different quirks, regardless of OS version (as I myself am using Windows 7 x64). I’ve uploaded a new version that switches to XP mode, which will launch a batch file that will hopefully fix the problem for now. The annoying thing is that the command prompt must be closed (press enter) before Minecrafter will clean up.

Also, can you tell me your java version? Start command prompt and type “java -version”

      Thanks for testing though πŸ™‚

The XP mode version works fine.

        Java version is:
        java version “1.6.0_21”
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_21-b07)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 17.0-b17, mixed mode)

        BTW: Love the program πŸ™‚
